Do you remember the first time you wrote a policy memo or brief? What did you do first? My guess is that you looked at an example that someone else had written.

For research experts who want to engage in policy, the world of policy memos, briefs, and other forms of written communication can seem impenetrable. While the Internet is replete with instructions on how to write in these formats, it can be challenging to find examples that communicate science for policy, citing research evidence.

With this database, we aim to make examples of formal written communication easily accessible online to members of the research community, enabling us to learn from one another. What does a good example of a memo, brief, or legislative testimony look like?

Search for memos written on specific topics or in specific regions of the world. If you have written one or more of these science-for-policy documents that you are proud of and would like to share with others, please submit them using this survey.
